Refresh

Replacing the old with the new is often a good thing… unless it’s something that’s still in good-shape, and/or still fully functioning.  Replacing things that are no longer of use could be a window to prosperity and wisdom.  Give yourself an invigorating, 5 minute oil change.   A quick mental cleanse and refresher while physically giving the body stress-relieving attention.

Sometimes it’s difficult to make a conscious decision to stop the world (your world) from spinning so quickly and moving so rapidly.  No matter how hard you try, there is still one more thing that needs to be done.  As soon as you feel like you need a break, take it.  Stop.  Breathe in.  Exhale.  Now follow this quick technique to start the process of renew.

Stop.  Breathe in.  Breathe out.  Find a focal point as you put everything on hold for the next 5 minutes.  Sit comfortably in an erect position where your spine is straight.  Imagine that you have a string attached to your base chakra (located in the under groin area).  The string has 7 knots, tied from the base to the top of your head.  As you remain comfortably seated, spine erect, move your hands from your lap to over your head.  With hands ending over your head, you should have all fingers touching the opposite hand’s fingers in the shape of a diamond.  Breathe regularly.  With every exhale, imagine that you are gently pulling on the string at the top of your head slowly untying each knot from the bottom, up.  Take about 60 seconds to visualize and untie each knot.  Slowly lower arms and welcome you (yourself) back to reality… the list has gotten so much easier.

Strength and Stability

The Standing Tree pose is one of the most multifunctional poses that I practice with minimal/limited time and space.  Everything that's built to last has a strong foundation and core.  To help build and strengthen the foundation and core, I practice this pose just before venturing into making sharp and clear decisions or shifting gears (multi-tasking) because it does lots more than just core strengthening.

This pose has quick benefits that is noticed almost immediately like a calming mood, improved breathing, stimulating blood flow yet maintaining an even blood presure, and instant clarity & focus.  Of course the benefits of being physically active, within itself, can go without being stated.   Having a strong center/core and stable foundation as a combination promotes overall strength and power.

It's as simple as finding a location where you can stand upright, can spread your arms fully on both sides and can breathe.  Stand stable. Both arms to your side. Breath.  Lift one leg, place your foot on the upper-inside of the opposite leg.  Keep balance, look forward. Breath.  Maintaining your balance, extend your arms from your sides, stretched out to each side. Breath.  Arms over your head, then down to Nameste. Breath.  Hold 30 - 90 sec. Breathe and release pose.  Do opposite side equal amount of time.

Go. Prosper.

Flexability

Backwards Arch Pose is a yoga pose that allow you to explore all spectrums of the chakras through flexibility and seeing things in other ways.  This pose is one that permits diversity and agility and welcomes the positive aspects of change.  Without change, there is no growth.  In each and every one of us there are stages that we must adapt to and become a part of by either learning or teaching.  The multi-stages of life can sometimes be harsh and/or brash where there is very little time to adjust.  When this pose is practiced correctly, the adjustments needed are easily calibrated.

This Pose will sharpen the minds’ eye by alternate visualization, flexible reasoning and diversity in conducting the way the body move.  The practice of this pose is to heighten the awareness of perception and sharpen the physical ability to function under awkward and/or uncontrolled situations.

Ease into this pose slowly, only when the spine and large muscle groups are warmed and the muscles are not tense or tight.  It is best to keep your eyes open when doing this pose for balance.  Practice four to eight breaths at a natural breathing rate.  Lay flat on the floor after this pose to allow the spine to adjust to its natural curvature. After every pose, make it a habit to relax and take at least two breaths in between before advancing to the next pose.

Direction & Focus

The Standing Bow Pose is a wonderful yoga pose.  This pose supports physical balance and mental balance strengthening techniques.  Both techniques work in sync when correct breathing and creative visualization is practiced while in this pose.  Remember that yoga poses are not meant to be the destination of perfection, but the evolution of doing it in rhythm of your natural being should be your goal.  The poses that I focus on in this blog are usually directed to open and nurture the chakras (the 7 basic portals).

This pose has a focus on multiple chakras at one time in harmony so that the mental and physical self can all be awakened at one time.  When you are fully conscience, then and only then, you acquire the true ability to successfully accomplish any vision or task that you wish.  A person with Direction and no focus can easily be led astray.  A person with Focus and no direction can easily be centered and aiming for the wrong thing. A balance of the two works hand in hand with each other to make the task of transition easy and seamless.

Ease into this pose slowly, only when the body is warmed and the muscles are not tense or tight.  It is best to keep your eyes open when doing this pose for balance.  Practice four to eight breaths at a natural breathing rate on either side.  After every pose, make it a habit to relax and take at least two breaths in between before advancing to the next pose.

Art through Yoga

I have experienced many things that move me out of my element.  What I mean by that is… I have had requests that make me feel wrong.  Incomplete and unsure is the feeling it leaves me with.  It doesn’t happen too often, but when I’m in that space, I have to simply remove myself partially from the presents of where I am to the knowing of where I wish to be.  It is not often an easy task, but after realizing the fact that I am in this current position or situation to master it… I realize that it is an opportunity to grow.

Growth (for me) incorporates four main elements that which permit it to happen successfully.  The four main elements are Spirituality, Firm Foundation, Flexibility, and Balance & Focus.  Each of the four is essential for me to keep my natural rhythm in sync with the universe.

There are Yoga poses that helps with each of the above elements.  Once the poses are practiced with proper breathing techniques, you will notice a difference in your own vision, direction and as well as how the universe brings things of your desire directly to you.  The practicing of any combination of the poses will awaken your third eye… awareness.

Just for the Art of It...

So many people has asked me so many times and in so many ways... Why do I create?  I cannot answer that questions surfacely unless I go into depth.  Surfacely, I can say it's 'Just for the Art of It.'  If I was to explain this concept to an entrepenure, they just would'nt understand my doing this without an invoice attached.  If I was to say this to the average 'Hippie", they would totally understand.  Understand, Duplicate and help me spread the love.  Answering this question to an 'Average Joe(anne)' is a bit more difficult.  Doing things 'just for the art of it' is as close to free expression as I can get.  When a I am is truly free to do something I fully enjoy, I have opened myself up to the universe.  Where the universe takes me is where I will go.  I am in the driver seat when I create.
